Suggested canoe and kayak launch sights

Below are links to some of our favorite paddling locations:

Sailor Creek Flowage

Boat Landing located at:
W7005 Dam Rd., Fifield, WI  54524

The entire flowage is very nice to paddle with islands and abundant wildlife.  A recommended route is to paddle east from the boat landing to the narrow section at the eastern end of the flowage.  Paddle through the culvert under Hicks Landing Road and continue to paddle up Sailor Creek.

Mason Lake and Evergreen Lake

Boat Landing Located at:
End of Snuss Blvd in Sawyer County

Although not in Price County, these lakes a worth a visit.  Give yourself several hours to explore.  You can paddle on Mason Lake only, but it is recommended that you include Evergreen lake during your visit.  From the launch site, recommend paddling to the north-east around the peninsula to the connector stream between Mason and Evergreen lakes.

Bass Lake

Launch Site Parking:
Located at the End of Bass Lake Rd.

Bass Lake is one of Price County’s Wilderness Lakes.  It is located within the Bass Lake Peatlands State Natural Area, which is within the Flambeau River State Forest.  There are no houses or other structures visible for the lake.  Access is carry-in only and no electric or gas motors are allowed.  From the parking area, there is an approximate 1/4 mile portage on a fairly level and well defined trail to the launch site which lies within a lovely Hemlock forest.  The irregular shoreline and clear water provide for a beautiful and tranquil paddle.

This page is a work in progress.  More launch sights will be added periodically.
